The Fridays of Aubigny return throughout August, with themes for each evening

The Fridays of Aubigny settle in the summer landscape of the Cité des Stuart. This meeting organized by the municipality, which launches its third edition this Friday, offers multiple activities in the city center during several evenings. It also allows traders in the city center to enlarge their terrace with six hundred more places than usual.

premium Aubigny-sur-Nère passed an oral to keep its label Petites Cités de Caractère, obtained 5 years ago

The initiative was born during the Covid-19 period, in 2020, in particular in the absence of the Franco-Scottish celebrations. But Laurence Renier, mayor of Aubigny, had this project even before the health crisis: “I had this idea of organizing something in August. We cannot be a tourist town and offer a big event in July, the Franco-Scottish Festival, and nothing in August. Hiring of Pierre-Hilaire Poron, (business manager, editor’s note) is an undeniable plus for organizing this meeting and talking to traders. »

The arts in the spotlight during the first evening

The four Fridays in August will thus be brightened up by entertainment from 6 p.m., when the town center will become pedestrianized. For the first time, each evening will be associated with a different theme (see below).

The first, the day after tomorrow, will put the arts in the spotlight: “For this date, the idea is to open up the city to artists of all kinds who come to perform in the city center with in particular a graffiti artist, portraits a photo exhibition, etc. explains Pierre-Hilaire Poron. It’s open to anyone who wants it. »

The second Friday, August 12, will be dedicated to games with the possibility in particular of performing an escape game at the castle, and wooden games for children. A mini-lottery (ten rounds) will be organized outdoors, on Place Adrien-Arnoux.

An eclectic musical assemblage on August 26

The third evening, August 19, will celebrate traditions. Martine Béal will come and tell stories in Berry patois at the Maison Victorine. The evening will also offer a tasting of Centre-Loire wines and Chavignol droppings.

The evening of August 26 will offer a fairly eclectic musical mix with a classical music concert, hip-hop performances and a DJ set. This last meeting will be marked by a sale of traders who will unpack products in front of their shops.

Finally, note that a food-truck will be present in the city center on each Friday.
