“We’ve always dreamed of going to space, and are thrilled to partner with World View on this adventure and experience,” said The Chainsmokers. “We know these views of Earth and space will be amazing and exhilarating, and we hope to use this flight to unleash our creativity for future projects.” »

With commercial tourist spaceflight commencing in 2024, The Chainsmokers will be among the first explorers to experience this stratospheric adventure. The Chainsmokers will record a concert from inside the World View capsule, giving viewers the chance to experience the musical performance first-hand as well as the artists’ journey to the far reaches of space. Further concert and recording information will be released at a later date.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome hit artists The Chainsmokers to experience this exhilarating adventure on one of our flights,” said Ryan Hartman, President and CEO of World View. “One of our goals is to make space tourism more accessible to people from all walks of life, including artists, whose ability we know to deliver powerful testimonies when they have been able to admire the wonders of the Earth and from space. World View is proud to be the first space tourism company to offer this experience to musical artists. »

World View’s Mission: Rediscover Earth

Unlike other space tourism companies, World View flights will launch from Seven Wonders of the World (Seven Wonders of the World, Stratospheric Edition™), including the Grand Canyon, Great Barrier Reef, the Serengeti, a site of the Northern Lights, the Amazon, the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Wall of China, offering explorers the opportunity to admire natural and human wonders from the ground to the far reaches of the space.

The price of the flight is $50,000, with a $500 deposit required to secure a seat. Eight explorers and two World View crew members will be transported in a zero-pressure stratospheric balloon and a pressurized space capsule up to 30 kilometers in altitude, nearly 48 kilometers into the stratosphere, for a transformative experience that will last six to eight hours. Explorers will take off before dawn to watch the sunrise over Earth, admire the curvature of our planet, and experience the darkness of space. They will see a world without borders and without race, and fully immerse themselves in the beauty, fragility, history and importance of the areas surrounding each location, as well as the Earth itself.
