GALLOWSTREET
brass band
9:15 p.m. – Courtyard Garden
Already ten years of avant-garde brass music to the credit of Gallowstreet. Originally from Amsterdam, the group has identified with this high place of nocturnal party and musical freedom. Composed of an octet with six hard-hitting brass instruments and two explosive percussionists, the brass-band has no equal in adding a club atmosphere to its profile as a New Orleans marching band, and developing a unique approach to live music. It must be said that everywhere, in the biggest festivals where they have systematically set fires, their colossal energy and the incandescence of their instrumental repertoire can only be contagious and trigger an irrepressible desire to dance. Their latest album “Our Dear Metropolis” offers a fresh look at the brass band universe while paying homage to the constant change of their hometown.
