Between the return of the votive festivals, concerts, plant markets, garage sales, theater day and song in Occitan, solidarity hike, there is a plethora of activities to do this weekend of May 14 and 15, 2022 through the department of Batch. Here is a selection.
Votive festival in Mauroux with the return of free balls
The votive festival of the village will take place on May 13, 14 and 15. With the program:
Friday 13 May 2022 at 10 p.m.: evening hosted by the TNT orchestra (free). Saturday 14 may : 2.30 p.m. friendly pétanque competition in doubles in 3 parts, at 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. Bandas Los Tri’Olé (free), at 10 p.m. evening hosted by the Elixir orchestra (free).
Sunday 15 may 2022 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. garage sale, 11 a.m. mass, 11:30 a.m. ceremony at the war memorial followed by an aperitif offered by the town hall, 4 p.m. traditional Occitan dances, 8:30 p.m. evening hosted by the Eko Eko orchestra (free), 10:30 p.m. big fireworks display.
“Quercy Noise” concert in Lacapelle-Marival
The association “Le chant des oaks” organizes the evening “Quercy Noise” on Saturday May 14 from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the village hall. Five groups with different musical styles will share the stage: Stamina (alternative rock, punk); Breaking Tag (punk-rock); Fif Crew (rap); Full Dub (dub); Spylo (psytrance). On site, refreshment bar in partnership with the local Matou brewery and snacking with homemade products.
Special garage sales empties your room in Prayssac
The Parents’ Association of Prayssac elementary and nursery schools (PEPA) organizes the sunday 15 May 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. an “Empty your Room” in the courtyard of the primary school or under the Halle near the Maurice-Faure space in case of bad weather.
The principle is the same as a garage sale, with the only difference that the objects for sale are those that can be found in an adult’s or child’s room (clothes, decorative objects, toys, games …) but also childcare equipment, hi-fi.
In addition, a sale of vegetable plants will be carried out by the children: tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, basil, parsley, calendula, marigolds, pumpkins, pumpkins…
A hike against Huntington’s disease in Quercy Blanc
Sunday 15 May 2022 the local branch of the Huntington France Association is organizing with the Trotte Cailloux association and in collaboration with the MAS d’Éole de Castelnau-Montratier, a joint action: a hike whose profits will be used to fight against Huntington’s chorea.
The Mas Chemin d’éole in Castelnau Montratier was one of the first Specialized Reception Centers in France to have a unit dedicated to Huntington’s Chorea. On the program: meet at 9 a.m. at the MAS (reception, visit and registration, coffee and cupcakes offered). 10 a.m., departure for the hike lasting about 5 hours. Return scheduled around 5 p.m. Average level. Picnic, taken from the bag, around 1 p.m. at the Flaugnac association hall, aperitif, cakes and coffee offered by the AHF. Carpooling for people who don’t walk. Visit of the village of Flaugnac included in the hike.
60 exhibitors for the 31st Plant Festival at L’Abbaye Nouvelle
The association “Les Amis de l’Abbaye-Nouvelle” is organizing the 31st edition of its Plant Festival on Sunday, May 15, 2022, on the exceptional site of the 13th century Cistercian abbey, Léobard, in the Lot.
Sixty exhibitors from all over Occitania but also from the Greater South-West, or even from Cantal, nurseries and responsible producers, will present their most beautiful collections of plants. From agapanthus to bamboo, citrus to sempervivum, cacti to peonies, old roses, terrestrial orchids, sages, carnivorous plants, etc., without forgetting shrubs, flowering and fruit trees. A plant richness that ensures the success of this event dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity.
Also with the presence of craftsmen – pottery, vegetable textile dyes, birdhouses, feeders, metal garden decorations – booksellers and associations.
The Sainte Estelle festival returns to Saint-Laurent-Lolmie
After 2 years of absence due to Covid-19, the whole day of this sunday 15 May 2022in St-Laurent-Lolmie (municipality of Lendou-en-Quercy), the “Tener l’Esteva” association, chaired by Raymond Lasvènes, will celebrate the Occitan language, in theater and music, during the traditional St. Estelle.
In the morning, from 9:30 a.m., Bernard Deleris will comment, in Occitan, on a walk, before a shared meal, taken from the bag, at 12 p.m.
In the afternoon, on the stage of the Saint-Laurent-Lomie village hall, from 2:30 p.m., music will alternate with the performance of the group of Occitan songs “Viure e Cantar”, and theater with the performance of three pieces “Lo Dentista”, “Balada Ministériella” and “Madama Quauqu’un”. French translations of the plays will be available.

The Maîtrise de Toulouse in concert at Saint-Céré
For the first spring concert of the Rocamadour Festival, La Maîtrise de Toulouse will perform its Songbook program on Sunday May 15, 2022 at the Scénograph, Théâtre de l’Usine in Saint-Céré at 5 p.m.
This program is a journey in song mixing arranged folk songs, composed songs (Poulenc, Elgar…) and popular songs (Gershwin, Michel Legrand…). La Maîtrise is headed by its Franco-English founder Mark Opstad.
