Just because it’s August doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do this weekend in Barcelona. Don’t miss the outdoor concerts, from August 5 to 7, but also a dinner in ancient Egypt mode, an exhibition on love or even the circus.

Soundit: concerts in the arena

Fans of house music, Soundit is your summer meeting place. Several Saturdays a month, a stage is set up in a park in Barcelona and the DJs set the mood until the evening. This Saturday, Eclair Fifi, Marcellus Pittman and Sama Yax will be on stage, in the mythical Monumental arena, on Gran Via. House, but also disco and old vinyl, all outdoors.

“With all my heart”: exhibition on love at the Disseny Hub

An exhibition that has its heart on its sleeve. The Disseny Hub in Barcelona presents the exhibition “With all my heart. Art, design and craftsmanship speak of love” (‘Tot Cor. Art, disseny i artesania parlen d’amor’), a free exhibition which presents works by diverse and varied artists around the heart and Love with a capital A. And to go even further, all the exhibits are on sale and the profits will go to a foundation to improve the quality of life of people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Mystike: the (big) circus on the port of Barcelona

“The Eternal Banquet”: dinner in ancient Egypt mode

The ancient Egyptian civilization has no shortage of enthusiasts, who would dream of being able to return to the past to experience daily life thousands of years ago. Every Friday this summer, we can rediscover well-known opera arias at Poble Espanyol. Turner. Light is color: watercolors at the MNAC

Until September 11, the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) is hosting the exhibition “Turner. Light is color”, with a collection of works by the English painter Joseph Mallord William Turner, watercolors in which light is painted as if it were a color, and becomes the main protagonist of the painting. Romantic natural landscapes, which take you on a journey from the Barcelona of 2022 to England at the beginning of the 19th century.

Indoor screen: free cinema at the CCCB

August is definitely movie month. In addition to all the outdoor sessions, the CCCB also offers a cycle of short films until August 31: “Inner screen” (‘Pantalla interior’). Initially a painter, the artist turns to short films to explore the world of dreams and the imagination, playing with images.
