The month of February was quite quiet in England and the United States in terms of albums, but allowed us to focus on lesser known artists. The opportunity to establish a top 10 of these pieces of this month of February 2021.
Fredo – Money Talks Ft. Dave
London artist, Fredo released his project “Money Can’t Buy Happiness” at the beginning of the month. After having exploded following the success of the hit Funky Fridaythe artist returns to rap on a hovering prod with drillesque percussions with Daveanother London rapper author of the title Thiago Silva. The title marks the spirits with its chorus, and with its message. Indeed, Fredo recounts the journey of the money he used to buy food, passing through the hands of a prostitute and then a pastor. The clip fully deserves a nomination for the best music videos of the year, as the story is well filmed by Edem Wornoo. Good tasting.
Brent Faiyaz – Gravity Ft. Tyler, The Creator
On the occasion of the series “Songs From Scratch” of Adidas OriginalsR&B singer Brent Faiyaz invited Tyler, The Creator to pose on a instrumental proposed by Steve Lacy, the bassist of the group “The Internet”. A real nugget of gold made by three innovative artists, who work mostly in the shadow of the big names. After the immense success of his brilliant album “Fuck The World”the American singer member of the Goldlink team returns to the title “Gravity”, with joyful looks and a catchy chorus. Perhaps the beginning of recognition across the Atlantic?
Lil Tjay – Calling My Phone Ft. 6LACK
The young prince of New York is back. Following the huge success of his album “True 2 Myself” in 2019, the rapper had been more discreet with the release of “State Of Emergency”despite a featuring with the late Pop Smoke. He returns accompanied by the R&B singer 6lack (pronounced Black) for a warm and sensual title. Probable declaration of love to his companion, the title reached the first place in the Spotify and Apple rankings. Lil Tjay announced that he will send his album only if the title would finish first on the Hot Billboard 200. Could this be the year the rapper will rob the industry?

Slowthai – push Ft. Deb Never
The committed English rapper has released his very good album “Tyron” accompanied by A$AP Rocky and Skepta in February. The one who appeared on stage with the head of Boris Johnson offered us an album split into two parts: an energetic and punk first where the titles are shown in capital letters, and a second, more melodious and calm, with titles in font tiny. The title push with the singer Deb Neveris a little motivating sweetness to listen to in any type of situation. The kind of music you can listen to sad or happy, but which will duplicate your feelings. Cheer.
Slowthai – Adhd
Another track from Slowthai, but know that the whole album deserves its place. The title “Adhd” comes to close his album on a very rhythmic and revolting production. The rapper unpacks his diary and recounts his previous worries, his fears, his addictions as well as his incipient madness. It wouldn’t surprise us to see this album nominated for 2021 Brit Awardsas this one highlights the talent of the rapper from Northampton, who had worked on the masterpiece “ IGO ” of Tyler, The Creator.
Skegee – JiD
Jid, a young rapper from Atlanta, delighted these fans this February with “Skegee”, a title with energetic hues that only suggests one adjective: heavy. As usual, the interpreter of “Working Out” cuts with ease on a production specific to his style. After the success that was his second album “DiCaprio 2”, the rapper puts the basics back and tackles several subjects in this sound. All supported by a black and white production coupled with subtitles.
Kodak Black – Every Balmain
Still in prison, rapper Kodak Black still had the opportunity to release a title, potentially thanks to his producer. The one who fights against depression behind bars shows us all his melancholy in this title, through a shivering and sad voice. Despite this, the piece remains very pleasant to listen to, thanks in particular to a melodic instrumental adorned with piano notes.
Caleborate – Contact Ft Kota The Friend
Watch out, nugget! The title was released a week ago and blocks at 15 thousand views. Yet the talent is present throughout. Very chill title due to its guitar riff, this sweetness deserves much more. We find the Californian rapper Kota The Friendpopularized following his pieces “Colorado”and Calebrate, which we discovered recently following his Colors Show. This collaboration can be listened to without moderation, in the sun, accompanied by a friend or alone with one’s thoughts.
Payroll Giovanni & Cardo – Eyez Closed
Payroll Giovanni & Cardo are back as a duo after three years of waiting and the two parts of “Big Bossin”. Third title of their new projects “Another Day Another Dollar”, it will transport you to the American West Coast at the wheel of a convertible. Payroll Giovanni continues to progress and seems to be gradually becoming Nipsey Hussle’s predecessor. If you own the song “5’s and 6’s” in your playlist, this one is for you.
