New for Avengers Campus, the future Marvel land at Disneyland Paris! The Parisian amusement park has unveiled a brand new promo video of the future area, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022. We take stock!
A project that is taking concrete shape at Disneyland Paris… Josh D’Amarothe president of the section Parks, Experiences & Products of the Walt Disney Companygave news of the progress of the work of the future Marvel land of the French park under construction, Avengers Campuson the occasion of the D23 held in Florida, Walt Disney World in November 2021. And this news is rather good… and for good reason: it has unveiled an opening date for this future land, for thesummer 2022 (without giving more details). Concept art also followed, on the occasion of a press conference held on January 25, as well as a video of the landing of the Quinjetthe plane of the Avengers, on January 27.
A new thematic area which was also revealed a little more on May 12, 2022, through a promotional spot revealing at the same time the attraction instead of the fire Rock’n’Roller Coaster : Avengers Assemble: Flight Force. A roller coaster which must propel thrill seekers on an eventful adventure in the company of several superheroes.
A construction site that is gradually being revealed
On the construction side, only a photo of the progress of the work had been revealed last November, showing the workers hard at work on the Iron Man and Spider-Man attractions to come. Last April, already, Disneyland Paris gave news of the construction in progress, this one progressing rather well as explained Beth Clappertonartistic director at Walt Disney Imagineeringon the resort’s 29th anniversary on April 12, 2021.
A space that must accommodate two attractions, among others: “it’s a 360 degree experience where we will find a new attraction dedicated to Spider-Man, a makeover of the attraction that there was previously at the bottom of the zone, Rock’n’Roller Coaster with Aerosmith, which will become a hyper frenetic attraction with Iron Man, and then obviously we have restaurants, shops, so a real small town, a real campus“, he indicated. She continues: “we will bring back a lot of greenery. It was much more mineral and now we would like to have a little more greenery“. And to specify that the sound environment will be of particular importance in the immersion.
A new area that was already giving news in November 2020, with a photo showing part of the work of the Rock’n’Roller Coaster fire, as well as the building Training Center (previously known as “Mission Control“), which is to host a “Meet & Greet” (meeting with the characters) in which families will be able to have their picture taken with many superheroes from the Marvel team.
What did these pictures show us? That the facade of the future attraction Iron Man was taking shape, notably with the laying of the concrete bases of the attraction’s future circular frontage. Side Meet & Greetthe building seemed finished from the outside, with the exception of its frontage, but still awaited the platform where will be exposed to the view of all the Avengers Quinjet. A landing that has indeed taken place!
A great announcement!
In the summer of 2019, Disneyland Paris already gave a first glimpse of its future land dedicated to the team’s superheroes Marvelrevealing some details about the future attractions and shows that the area dedicated to the Walt Disney Studios. An announcement made by Scott DrakeExecutive Portfolio Creator Marvel in the world, to then be relayed on Twitter by the Parisian resort. And on the occasion of D23 Expowhich took place in Anaheim, California, from August 23 to 25, 2019, we now know the name.
According to Disneyland Paristhis new space must immerse visitors “immerse yourself in the action and epic adventures of their favorite superheroes, from the mystical arts of Doctor Strange to the dizzying feats of Spider-Man“. Children and parents will also be able to “discover the latest experiences created by Pym Technology with Ant-Man and the Wasp” then “team up with Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America and more“.
