THE MUSIC FESTIVAL WILL ANIMATE THE WHOLE CITY

17 concerts and different styles
After a last edition limited by health restrictions, the Fête de la Musique 2022 returns to town in its original form with 17 concerts offered by the City.
On the program, orchestra, brass band, funk, electro, jazz, classical, folk, variety, rock, Latin music, choir…

Premises
The court garden, the town centre, the Foch rotunda, the fishing port, the courtyard of the Saint-Clair castle (Arundel tower), the La Chaume village hall, the forecourt of the Town Hall or the Audubon room will also welcome artists and groups.
The Vendée Arctic village will also be there with a concert on the stage main.

PROGRAMMING

ORCHESTRA CLASS OF THE PIERRE MAUGER COLLEGE
Orchestra
1:30 p.m. – Forecourt of the Town Hall
The Orchestra class at Pierre Mauger College is an option offered to students of 6th and 5th as part of the partnership between the College and the Conservatory of Marais music from Les Sables d’Olonne Agglomeration. Since the start of the 2011 school year, the students integrating the device are introduced to ensemble music through learning of the technique of instruments of the brass family (trumpet, trombone and tuba).

CQMD, a French heavy funk band, is back with even more energy and rhythm. After 30 years of existence, shows with Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker, a credits for a Klapisch, as well as more than 1500 concerts in more than 40 countries, the rhythm is only accelerating with this 10th album.

Biguizi, a fanfare experienced in the art of improvising in New Orleans fashion, has decided to put jazz back on the sidewalk where it was born. She inscribes her repertoire throughout the “Made in Nola” jazz saga, from the era of the first brass bands to the “second lines” that are still surging today.

Atypical trio formed in 2018 and composed of a tenor saxophone, a saxophone baritone and a drummer, it works both acoustically and with sound. The original compositions, loaded with catchy melodies, frenetic rhythms and cosmic solos combine jungle, jazz, techno, electro, fanfare: the DRUM’n’SAX style was born.

Inspired by New Orleans Marching Music culture, Atomic Brass Band perpetuates the heritage of the tradition of the parades of mythical New Orleans.
Ambulance of brass and percussion combining Groove and Funk tinged with jazz, Atomic Brass Band is likely to thrill those who know what groove means.


CONSERVATORY SONG WORKSHOP

The 25 singers of the Atelier Chanson, one of the Choirs of the Music Conservatory Marin Marais des Sables d’Olonne Agglomeration, under the direction of Marc Auge, will share their enthusiasm and their pleasure in singing together an anthology of works taken from “Made in US” musicals: Mary Poppins, Cats, Sound of Music, West Side Story…
