It’s the musical event of the weekend. After his last tour which brought together more than 500,000 spectators, Julien Doré is back in Pau to find his audience after four years of absence on stage.
Since his victory in 2007 at La Nouvelle Star, the artist has come a long way. He released his fifth album “Aimée” – in reference to the first names of his grandmother and his mother – in 2020, reissued this fall, and which he will present to the public at the Zénith on Sunday. This album also marks a break with the previous ones by abandoning his sentimental visions for social issues.

2. Johnny’s other way to the Zenith
Winner of the show “France has an incredible talent”, in 2018, a few months after the death of Johnny Hallyday, Jean-Baptiste Guégan, who nevertheless started his career a long time ago, released two albums: “Since it’s written”, in 2019, and “Stay the same” the following year.
The artist was spotted in 2000 in a bar by a producer who offered him to become Johnny Hallyday’s vocal double and make it his job. Jean-Baptiste becomes Johnny Junior. On Johnny’s death, the show “Jean-Baptiste Guégan: La Voix de Johnny” paid tribute to the singer and toured successfully throughout France.
A musical but above all vocal phenomenon, the artist will perform Johnny’s greatest songs at the Zénith de Pau and introduce his own repertoire. Jean-Baptiste Guégan will celebrate his 39th birthday tomorrow.

3. The Mourenx Fair
It is on the theme of the four elements that the 30th Foire de Mourenx opens its doors tomorrow morning at 9 am.
Exhibitions, Raku demonstration, games and quizzes, manufacturing workshops (vegetated walls, kite, cupcake decoration, etc.), photocalls, etc. will enliven these two days, not to mention the area for children and its mini-farm, baptisms at motorbikes, car races and remote-controlled boats… Of course, the stands of merchants, craftsmen, associations and restaurateurs from Mourenx will also be widely present.
One hundred and fifty exhibitors – art and decoration, habitat and leisure, terroir and gastronomy, catering – will share the space of the Place de Navarre and the marquee of the Place du Travail (located behind the town hall).
Street performances, colorful and lively, will also punctuate these two days of celebration.

4. Rock This Town continues this weekend
Since Wednesday, the Rock This Town Festival has been unfolding, notably at Méliès (6 rue Bargoin, in Pau) with the screening of films (most of which are unseen in France) and numerous events. Saturday May 14, a special Soul Music evening, in collaboration with Ampli and the ACP will begin at 8 p.m. with the film – “Summer Of Soul” followed, at 10:30 p.m., by the concert of Koko Jean And The Tonics (Price: 12 €).
Sunday May 15, meeting-conference on the world of Frank Zappa by Pierre Hamelin, at 11 a.m., at the Café Méliès.

5. World music with Sona Jobarteh in Lons
Sold-out concert for Sona Jobarteh, singer and instrumentalist of Gambian and English origins, the first professional woman to play the kora, a 21-string African harp, traditionally used by men from the Gambian Griot tradition.
His music, between the preservation of its rich cultural heritage and an accessible and modern style, relates to the current times and to audiences around the world. Her elegant musicianship and captivating voice brought Sona to rapid success with her debut album. Accompanied by her 4 musicians, she will present her second opus in Lons.
Composer, singer and Comorian musician, Eliasse will provide the first part. The artist mixes twaraba, mgodro and even shimoga rhythms with blues, funk and rock.

6. “The Shepherd of Sounds” in Saucède
The composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer, Alain Larribet will be in Saucède this evening for his show “Le Berger des Sons”. Through this story, he remembers the birth of his love for the mountains through his first day spent in the summer pastures with his father, Jean-Louis, his uncle and lo Beth, a night lulled by the rain, a meeting with the he bear… Alain Larribet sings and transmits his love for nature and his passion for travel.

7. The body remembers at Espace Dantza
Time passes and the body grows old… “”Do you remember it? “is an invitation to take an adult by the hand, to bring him back to the shores of this lost childhood to make him find a form of innocence”, exposes the choreographer Sabaline Fournier, in her note of intent. In this show, presented by the Dantzaz collective tomorrow evening, the choreographer takes the body through this intensity of life that is shaped over time and that crosses the ages, from childhood to old age.

8. Pau celebrates Europe…
Every May 9, the Member States of the European Union commemorate the declaration of Robert Schuman, one of the founding texts of the Union. Pau celebrates Europe Day, tomorrow Saturday May 14, from 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. place Clemenceau with artistic, cultural and festive events, with on the menu: El Camino concert, participatory street art, musical entertainment, contest, tour European countries in 3D and the retransmission of Eurovision. 9. …and nature
On the environmental side, a harvest of meetings is scheduled in Pau until June 5, as part of the Nature Festival, which will begin with the Gardeners’ Festival this Sunday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Domaine de Sers. . On the menu: open doors of the municipal greenhouses, – the opportunity for the public to discover the 125,000 plants which will then embellish the flowerbeds in town; practical workshops, in particular repotting for children, opening of the citizen nursery, exotic greenhouses and floral decoration; bouquet-making workshop at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The House of the gardener and nature in the city will present a range of devices (how to integrate a collective garden, compost, borrow a shredder, etc.) for residents.
A family workshop (from 3 years old) is offered at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for a discovery of biodiversity in the city and in particular the animals that surround us (presentation of hedgehog shelters, observation of birds and their nest boxes, etc.)
These open days at the Domaine de Sers will also be an opportunity to meet municipal officials responsible for the maintenance of stadiums, sports equipment and playgrounds in the city. Visits to the tree heritage of the Parc de Sers are on the menu from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A market of local plant producers will be present all day. Still other activities are planned throughout the day, on the world of bees with the Artpiculture association in particular.

10. A family story in Orthez
The Sans Souci company will push the song, this evening, in the inner courtyard of the Jeanne-d’Albret Museum. Through twenty songs, the troupe tells the story of a family, from the birth of children to their departure for the great adventure of life… This ordinary family resembles ours, yours, that of yesterday as today…
Between joys, ruptures, laughter and tears, the public follows this family over fifty years.
