The idea then came to organize events around August 15, the day of the village’s patronal feast.

We thought why not take advantage of this date to organize events around the church and the hill of Autheuil.

Benoit Pohu, vice-president of the association

Since then, the festival has become a reference in the region and happy duet formed by Elisabeth and Benoit does not intend to stop there. “One wants to continue to make this festival an important meeting in Le Perche”.

Proof of its success, the holding of this festival attracted the attention of the famous Stephane Bern, “he made a short video of his home in Thiron-Gardais”. He couldn’t be here this year, but “maybe next year he will come” hopes Benoit Pohu.

In this video Stéphane Bern says he regrets not being able to attend the Autheuil festival “which is a festival that gives its full place to the history of this village around this heritage jewel that is the Notre-Dame-d’Autheuil church, the oldest Romanesque church in the Perche”.

An enticing program

With this festival, Elisabeth Montagne Borne and Benoit Pohu are trying to “bring it wide in terms of cultural proposals” in order to be able tor bring together as many people as possiblefine connoisseurs as well as curious people with a thirst for knowledge.
