How to participate in the Remix Opening of Esch2022?

Esch2022 will start with a big party organized on Saturday February 26, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., both in the city center of Esch and in Belval. The Remix Opening offers a varied program and many activities to participate in. More than 25,000 people can be accommodated on site. Tickets are still available. Paperjam.lu explains how to take part in this great popular festival.

1. Book your ticket

The first step is to register on the Esch2022 website. Indeed, each participant must have registered beforehand, with an arrival time on the site. This ticket is free. Like many Esch2022 events, participation is at the heart of the concept. Participants are therefore invited to choose a profile that will guide them towards a mission to accomplish throughout the evening. Participants have the choice between four profiles (Iron Furnace, River Alzette, New Horizons and Red Earth) which are related to the characteristics of the region. This profile also shapes the course that the participants are invited to take during the evening.

Please note that the online ticket office will be open throughout the evening and that ticketing points are open in Esch-Belval and Esch-Centre.

Please note: the Esch-Centre site is only accessible with a ticket between 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. and becomes free of charge from 6.30 p.m.

2. Getting there, and coming back

When taking your ticket, you will have to choose your mobility to access the site. Several car parks are available to accommodate personal vehicles: P+R Bouillon (full), P+R Lux Sud (Howald), P+R Sanem, P+R Pétange. Shuttles from these car parks are then regularly organized to get to and from the site. Otherwise, it is possible to take trains (line 60), buses (TICE lines 3, 4, 7, 15 and RGTR lines 306, 332) and opt for individual active mobility. For the return, trains and shuttles are planned until the end of the Opening. Participants receive an email before the event with more details depending on their choice of mobility which was indicated when registering their ticket.

3. To enjoy with peace of mind

The entire event takes place under the CovidCheck 3G regime. You have to wear the mask everywhere, even outdoors. A bracelet will be given to participants to circulate freely.

Travel between Esch-Centre and Esch-Belval can be done by train or shuttle (free).

To eat, food trucks and refreshments are available on site, but drinks must be taken seated on site. The restaurants on the sites are also open.

4. Programming

During the evening, Esch-Centre is transformed into a space mission control center and Esch-Belval into a launch pad for a virtual rocket. An immersive and festive universe is offered to participants to live and experience a memorable evening together, with live music, DJ sets, movement workshops, video mapping and many other live performances.

In town, two stages have been set up: “Mission Control Stage” on Town Hall Square, where Saxitude, Seed to Tree and Pilon will play, and “Place de la Résistance Stage”, with performances by Colors of Bubbles, Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys, Les Jahrdiniers and Zero Point Five.

In Belval there are also two stages: “Rocket Launch Pad Stage”, with Short Reports, Chaild, Maz, Ryvage, The Penelopes, and the “Rockhal Stage”, for Future Frequencies and Miss Sappho. A total of 19 concerts are given in various musical styles. Some groups come from the two other twin European capitals, Kaunas in Lithuania and Novi Sad in Serbia.

At 9:30 p.m., the rocket takes off at the foot of Blast Furnace A.

5. Even from a distance

And for all those who do not have the opportunity to have a ticket, or who prefer to avoid the crowd, there is still the option of participating in the event by interposed screen, by connecting to the Esch2022 site.
