Folklore, environment, garage sales, music, cheese… What’s going on in Haute-Vienne?

The municipality and the Grands Chézeaux festival committee are organizing a commercial semi-nocturne on the main square, Sunday August 7, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Many local traders and producers will be present to showcase their best products. It will be possible to eat on site. Some artists and creators will be welcome.

Garage sales

– The Friends of Saint-Hubert are organizing a garage sale on Sunday August 7 at the Aureil stadium. Grills, drinks, meals by reservation at or or by email

Garage sales and market

The Bussière-Boffy festival committee is reborn from its ashes and organizes its first event, Sunday August 7, a garage sale and a market for local producers on the church square. On-site and traditional catering midget (refreshing drink made from bread, wine and sugar, sometimes with fruit).

The committee will also organize a traditional ball on Saturday October 15, multipurpose room in Mézières-sur-Issoire, run by students from the Limoges conservatory. Admission will be free. Finally, a farmers’ market will be held on Sunday October 30, at a place called La Grange in Bussière-Boffy.


The Square de Champagnac-la-Rivière room, next to the village hall, hosts a group exhibition of paintings and photographsvisible every day from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on request at

The New-Aquitaine Conservatory of Natural Spaces organizes visits to the Dauges peat bog in Saint-Léger-la-Montagne in August, on Sundays 7, 14, 21 and 28. Tuesday August 9 at 5 p.m., the Cécile-Sabourdy museum in Vicq-sur-Breuilh offers a moment of softness, color, sound and poetry, with the show Parade (small) by Mathilde Vrignaud. A performer builds her nest. She picks up rough objects around her. Like a bird, she fabricates her being, with drawings, dances and absurd and colorful adornments. – A variety show will take place on Saturday August 6 at Charles-Silvestre Park in Bellac, from 9 p.m. Klara Madison will perform French and international varieties and Sébastien Laurent will offer a cover of Johnny Hallyday’s songs. The show will be followed by an 80s evening. Free admission, on-site catering with the DJO Food Truck, refreshment bar.

– A series of concerts in Haute-Vienne and Creuse will showcase previously unseen pieces from the sacred repertoire of Charles Gounod and the unjustly overlooked works of his great friend Charles Gay, whose work he admired. Anne-Sophie de Dinechin will be at the piano, Murielle Gauthier will sing, accompanied by Father Jean-Baptiste Tison.

A dancing gala will be organized on Sunday August 7, at the Rochettes gymnasium in Bellac, from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This afternoon ball musette and paso doble will be hosted by Anaïs Bessières, singer from Auvergne, Gilou, accordionist from Pierre Perret and the group License 4, Pascal Terrible, accordionist from Royères and Angélique Neuville, young accordionist from the Jura, accompanied by the orchestra of accordionist Jean Vincent.

Sunday August 7 in the center of Châlus, on the banks of the Tardoire, from 8 p.m., free show by two groups who will then take part in the Confolens folk festival: Naiden Kirov (Bulgaria) and Ze Radcliffe Fanfare (Quebec). Free.

The film Wild Relatives by Jumana Manna will be projected on the walls of the Vassivière Art Center on Saturday August 6, at 9:30 p.m. (VOST). This documentary evokes the International Center for Agricultural Research in Arid Zones based in Aleppo (Syria) which was forced to move to Lebanon. Duration: 1?h?10.

Before the screening, a guided tour of the current Art Center exhibition, Vanishing lines, is offered at 8 p.m. Think picnic, chairs and duvet. The Tzigane Tisane caravan will be present to quench your thirst.

Village party

The party will be held on August 6 and 7 in the town of Saint-Laurent-les-Eglises.

Saturday: petanque competition on an enlarged and equipped ground, gourmet and artisanal night market from 6 p.m., rib-and-fried steak evening from 7 p.m., and, in the evening, free concert of contemporary music as part of the Zestivales de Festi’ zac, with three groups, Bob’s not dead, Lela and Manas and Sunny Tears.

The Asstrafer association is organizing its steam day on Sunday August 7, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Espace Hermeline in Bussière-Galant. Come and discover the small Ribières railway, take tours of trains pulled by live steam engines, on this superb network of 750 m of track with its station, its depot and its luminous signaling. The Sassag (Society of Friends of Saint-Sylvestre and of the Abbey of Grandmont) offers free lecture tours on the history of the former Abbey of Grandmont. Themes: the order of Grandmont and its abbeys (August 7), the order of Grandmont in the Plantagenêt empire (August 14), the small rural heritage of the town (August 21) and the order of Grandmont and management water by the monks with a 1 hour 30 hike through the Sauvages nature reserve (August 27). Due to the prefectural decree of August 3 temporarily prohibiting the use of fireworks or pyrotechnics in force from August 5 to 8, the Charente department and the Cassinomagus archaeological park regret having to cancel the “Nuits Archéo” show which was scheduled for Chassenon on Saturday August 6th.
The use of pyrotechnic techniques for this event indeed presents too great a risk in view of the climatic conditions and the vulnerability of the environment to fires. Following the cancellation of the show, the site closes at 7 p.m.
