FACT OF THE DAY August: the 15 events not to be missed!

In the Gard, the month of August is loaded with entertainment. The Thursdays of Nîmes attract the public in the city of Antonin where a new spectacle of reconstitution will take place in the arenas. Wine tastings will also be in the spotlight. Several artists will perform on different stages: Joyce Jonathan, Vitalic, Naps, Heuss l’Enfoiré and Julien Clerc. Overview of events not to be missed!

Nîmes and its agglomeration

Nîmes, city of the gods (August 8,9,11,12,13 and 15 at 9:30 p.m.). After the change of delegate and the arrival of Edeis in place of Culturespaces, a brand new show is arriving in the Roman amphitheater to replace “Nuits de Nemaus”. It is “Nîmes, city of the gods” with no less than six performances around a very specific theme. Built around a sacred spring, Nîmes is a 2,000-year-old Roman city, but other peoples have left their mark in southern Gaul. The Greeks, Celts, Germans and Egyptians also contributed to the history of this illustrious city. These different civilizations all have their own gods. Prices: From €5 to €38. Ticket office:

25th International Festival of Argentine Tango (August 10 to 16). Exceptional artists from the international circuit, numerous free activities and poetic roaming under the stars, in magnificent squares and sumptuous historical sites will make Nîmes and the Gard, once again, the center of an endearing passion: tango. Hasta Luego Show (August 10, 17, 19 and 23 at 7:30 p.m.). For four evenings, the magnificent Hasta Luego estate offers four magical musical shows entitled: “The horses make their show”. Colorful with technicolor and frantic rhythms, the new show of Hasta Luego combines more than ever choreography and equestrian prowess. After the show, the public can meet the artists and horses. Thursdays in Nîmes (August 4, 11, 18 and 25). There are still four evenings left in August to take advantage of the 28th edition of Thursdays in Nîmes with its concerts in the squares of the city center and its markets for artisans, collectors and local producers on the boulevards. Without forgetting, the JeuDiVin with the winegrowers of the AOC Costières de Nîmes who take place on the Esplanade Charles-De-Gaulle to have the wines of the appellation tasted. And then, like last year, during the last two evenings (August 18 and 25), a Camargue race will take place in the arenas of Nîmes as part of the Trophée de l’avenir with the aim of making this discipline. 8th Film Film Festival (August 4 to 7 at 7 p.m.). The association Jean-Paul Boyer, Culture & Cinéma, with the support of the CNC, the Cinémathèque française and Gaumont, is organizing the 8th Outdoor Film Festival, in Redessan, from August 4 to 7, 2022. Reel screenings of 35 mm film, outdoors and on a giant screen (72 m²). Price: €6. Schoolyard, Rue du 19-mars-1962.

The Ravel’Prod Festival (August 13 at 8 p.m.). The Ravel’Prod recording studio organizes the first edition of the Ravel’Prod Festival in La Calmette. An event around musical culture which aims to highlight local talent and actors. Joyce Jonathan will perform at La Calmette with the winning group of the springboard to ensure its first part. Uzès – Pont du Gard

Electros of Uzès (August 5 and 6, 9 p.m.). French and international DJs will set the Promenade des Marronniers on fire as part of the Électros d’Uzès. At the same time, the event will celebrate its 20th anniversary with an eclectic program that takes up all the fringes of electro music. Vitalic will notably be present on Saturday (0h15-1h15). Uzès wine fair (August 12 to 14 from 11 a.m.). Since 2001, the Uzès Wine Fair has become a showcase for Gard wine production. 58 selected winegrowers, to which are added the fougasses of Uzetian bakers, meet on the Esplanade. Organized by the agricultural promotion committee for nearly 50 years, the Uzès wine fair attracts a large number of people each year Price: Free access Esplanade Maréchal-de-Lattre-de-Tassigny – Avenue de la Liberation.

The winegrowers on the bridge (August 10 and 17 at 7 p.m.). On August 10 and 17, discovery evenings and tastings of Coteaux du Pont du Gard IGP wines await wine lovers. From 7 p.m., the winegrowers invite you to discover the heritage elegance of their wines. Price: 6€. Pont du Gard site.

Ales – Cevennes

Anim’Ales (August 12 and 13 from 6 p.m.). On August 12, an event concert with Naps. Tikka, Emma MRG and Nesso will provide the first part, DJ Sleez will be on the decks to ensure the show. On August 13, Heuss l’Enfoiré and Yanns. Tikka, Emma MRG and Nesso will provide the first part, DJ Sleez will also be back. Prices: from €25.70 to €46.13. Falconry show (August 10,11, 12, 13). Discovery of the passion for falconry during unforgettable days. The public will be able to discover an exciting profession. Esprit Fauconnerie moves to animate the town with a magical animation, combining training and complicity between the falconer and his birds. Concert by Julien Clerc (August 17 at 9:15 p.m.). After “The 50th Anniversary Tour” and nearly 200 dates in Europe and Canada, Julien Clerc is back in 2022 with the “Happy Days” tour. After three exceptional concerts at the Palais des Congrès in Paris and a concert at the Olympia, it will be in Bagnols-sur-Cèze on August 17 at 9:15 p.m. Price: 30€. Greg Delon, Château de Vestric 2nd edition (August 20 at 7 p.m.). On August 31, 2019 at the Château de Vestric, the first Élégance edition brought together more than 1,000 participants and 35 partner companies in a breathtaking setting in this place dating from the 17th century. This year the bar is even higher with a business showroom, Greg Delon on music and many other surprises. Price: Free entry. Castle of Vestric-et-Candiac.

Performance by Patrick Bosso (August 21 at 8:30 p.m.). Patrick Bosso is a French comedian born in Marseille. He is the author of about ten shows since the beginning of his career. We find him since 2009 in his new one man show, La Courte Scale. Patrick Bosso is also an actor, he has participated in a dozen films. Prices: from €25 to €29. Arena of Grau-du-Roi.
