Hike

The association Les Amis du Musée de la Résistance de Limoges is organizing a walk on Tuesday August 9 with commentary by Michèle Guingouin, daughter of Georges Guingouin, Companion of the Liberation, liberator of Limoges, of Saint-Gilles les Forêts at the top of Mont-Gargan, on the subject of Resistance. Organization of the Resistance, leaflets, life in the maquis, remarkable actions, parachute drops, fights from Mont Gargan… will be discussed during a 6 km loop without difficulty.

As part of La Route de la Pomme du Limousin 2022, the AOP Pomme du Limousin syndicate organizes orchard visits all summer long, every Tuesday and Thursday, at 11 a.m., including one on Thursday August 4, at Patrice Blanchet, in Coussac-Bonneval. Castles

– The Château de Lastours opens its doors to the public during the summer. Visits are free and open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday August 3, Saturday August 6 and from Thursday August 11 to Monday August 15 inclusive.

– In August, the Val de Vienne tourist office in Aixe-sur-Vienne continues its series of “Summer Secrets in the Val de Vienne”, to help people discover the riches of the local territory. Castles, craftsmen and farmers open their doors during specially organized visits. Thursday 4 August at 3 p.m.: discovery of the Château de Losmonerie and its gardens (€8 per adult, snack offered with specialties from the château). – The Château de Lascroux in Cromac organizes guided tours of the park until August 15th. A former 15th century fortified castle, of which there remains a tower overlooking the deep valley of the Benaize, it sits enthroned in a 5 ha park with remarkable trees, designed in 1893 by the Limougeaud landscaper Nivet.

Park visit alone (€4), or park and ground floor of the château (€6), free for children under 12. The park is open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily until August 15. Possibility of picnic from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The park is open on Saturdays August 6 and 13 for 19th century themed picnics with or without accessories, fan, headdress, apron.

Canoe

As part of the City of Art and History, the Limoges tourist office is offering a walk along the water with an unconventional look. Indeed, it is a question of embarking on board canoes from the nautical base located rue Victor-Duruy in Limoges (almost opposite the ice rink), every Thursday and Friday at 8:30 p.m., until August 26. You will be accompanied by two sports leaders from the departmental canoe kayak committee to reassure you about the control of your boats.
In addition, a tour guide, Aurélien, will recount with fervor, passion and lots of amusing details the history of this waterway, which is intimately linked to the seven bridges that span it during navigation. The opportunity to discover these shores and these emblematic works, or to rediscover with a new eye for the Limougeauds.
Passing under these historic arches as night falls gives the site a whole new dimension. As a bonus, you will come out of this poetic walk enriched with culture through the stories told by Aurélien, a real source of knowledge about the life of the Vienne, its banks, its bridges but also the life of its residents through the centuries. .

Watercolor

Do you want to keep in shape or start exercising while on vacation? Two lessons are offered to you by Isabelle Anicet (qualified sports coach) every Wednesday evening at the multipurpose room of Lastours.

From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., fitness session (all levels) with warm-up to music to work on the joints, cardio and prepare the muscles for muscle strengthening in the second part of the session. And from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Pilate sessions, gentle gym accessible to all or the exercises offered are associated with breathing specific to Pilates. This discipline strengthens the deep muscles and works the posture gently. The sessions are varied, with or without equipment. This summer, the Pierre-Buffière tourist office is hosting an exhibition of photos and paintings by the self-taught artist Véronique Vinot. At the same time, visitors will be able to discover a small shop of local craftsmen: cosmetics from La Ferme de Fardissou, jewelry from GL Créations France, “Le fil du bois” creations from Georges Praneuf, decorative accessories and furniture makeovers by Limouzi FabriK.

Saint Pardoux

As part of the summer entertainment, the town hall of Bellac is setting up a free shuttle to Saint-Pardoux for Les Bellachons. The bus will leave at 1:30 p.m., place du Champ-de-Foire, on Wednesdays 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 August. Return around 6 p.m., same place. The Acca of Arnac-la-Poste organizes a Gallic meal, Sunday August 7 from 12 p.m., at the stadium of the commune. On the menu: starter, grilled venison or wild boar accompanied by vegetables, cheese, dessert and coffee. Prices: 15 euros for adults, 7 euros for children under 10 years old. Party

The town hall of Saillat-sur-Vienne is organizing its summer party on Saturday August 6th. From from 7 p.m., at the lake of Chaumeix, “Le Café d’Ici” will hold the refreshment bar, a food-truck (Burger Box 87) will be present and will offer burgers, hot-dogs, fries, pancakes and ice creams and there will have musical entertainment. From 11 p.m., the fireworks will be set off.

Music

The Alma Flamenca group returns to the Potron Minet, bar-crêperie at 6, rue de la Collégiale in Eymoutiers, Friday August 5 at 9 p.m. This group offers traditional flamenco tunes and creations. Company visits

Limoges Métropole is once again associated this year with the “summer 2022 business visits” operation, of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limoges and Haute-Vienne, by offering visits to two of its community structures: the recycling center and the waste energy plant.

For the first, they will take place on Wednesdays August 3 and 24, at 2:15 p.m. (duration between 1 h and 1 h 30). For the second, the Wednesdays August 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 10 a.m. (duration 1h-1h30). Reservation required for these visits: 0.800 86.11.11 (free toll number from a landline) specifying the day, the number of people, address and telephone number.
