AEW Dynamite Special Fyter Fest Results for July 20, 2022

– Tonight is AEW Dynamite special Fyter Fest Night 2, the show starts with the arrival of Brody King followed by Darby Allin for the first fight of the evening.

Singles Match

Brody King vs. Darby Allin

At the end of the match, Darby Allin managed to get into the ring before the referee counted 10 after being knocked out by a Rear Naked Choke and thrown outside the ring by Brody King. The member of the House Of Black does not waste a second and continues with his Gonzo Bomb on Darby Allin for the victory.

Winner: Brody King

After the match, Brody King goes after Darby Allin, but Sting comes to his rescue when suddenly the lights go out and Malakai Black faces the legend. Brody King takes Sting in a chokehold and Malakai Black spits his Black Mist at him when this time it’s Miro’s music that rings out. Miro comes up the ramp and stares at the two House Of Black members.

– Tony Schiavone is interviewing Cole Karter, but they are interrupted by Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs. Ricky Starks tells him that he was sleeping with the fish according to the latest information (reference to the segment that made his character disappear in NXT 2.0) whereas today he is swimming with the sharks. He says he’s been an FTW champion for a long time now and he’s not going to lose to Cole Karter tonight. The young wrestler replies that he will beat him tonight.

– Wheeler Yuta enters accompanied by William Regal who sits at the commentary table where he finds Orange Cassidy.

Tag Team Match

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta) vs Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)

At the end of the match, Wheeler Yuta managed to take Chuck Taylor down and hit him with a Seatbelt Pin for the three count and the win.

Winners: Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta)

– We have a promotional video for the ROH World Championship between Jonathan Gresham and Claudio Castagnoli which will take place this Saturday during Death Before Dishonor, the card of which you can find right here.

– Tony Schiavone is in the ring and asks us to welcome new AEW Tag Team Champions Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland for the celebration. Fans intone a chat. Keith Lee says he has eternal gratitude for all the fans. He says they managed to rise through the ranks and be on top of the tag team division thanks to the support of the fans. He ends by saying that people who want to face them have to level up and then they are interrupted by Mark Sterling and Tony Nese.

Mark Sterling says he has a petition calling for Swerve Strickland to be kicked out of AEW. In the audience, there is Kevin Gates who is a rapper and friend of Swerve Strickland and Mark Sterling comes to tickle him by asking him to sign his petition. Mark Sterling, tells Kevin Gates his music sucks and the rapper punches Tony Nese. Mark Sterling takes a cake in the face.

– Tony Schiavone is with John Silver who says he has a present for The Butcher and The Blade. These are t-shirts with “BUTCH” written on them. The Butcher & The Blade don’t like it and attack the two Dark Order members before Adam Page comes to rescue them.

Tag Team Match

Christian & Luchasaurus vs. Varsity Blondes (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrisson)

At the end of the match, Luchasaurus sends Griff Garrisson on Brian Pillman Jr with a chokeslam then he makes the substitution with Christian pinning for the victory.

Winners: Christian & Luchasaurus

After the match, Christian and Luchasaurus don’t have time to celebrate as the Jungle Boy music plays and he shows up with a chair. Jungle Boy faces Luchasaurus with the chair then he sides with him so he can chase down Christian who is fleeing through the crowd.

– Behind the scenes, Austin Gunn challenges Max Caster for a Rap Battle during the next episode of Rampage.

FTW Championship Match

Cole Karter vs. Ricky Starks (c) (accompanied by Powerhouse Hobbs)

At the end of the match, Ricky Starks dodged a 450 Splash attempt from Cole Karter and then speared him for the victory.

Winner: Ricky Starks (c) (accompanied by Powerhouse Hobbs)

After the match, Ricky Starks takes the microphone and asks the next wrestler who wants a shot at the title to come to the ring. Danhausen’s music hits and says he accepts the challenge for a fight now. Ricky Starks says he never said he wanted a match now, but then next week his music blares and celebrates in the ring.

– Behind the scenes, Tony Schiavone is with Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander and Athena. Statlander won’t be in the match, which will be a tag team fight, but the three women support each other to put the Baddies out of harm’s way.

– Tony Schiavone is in the ring and he asks us to welcome the IWGP, Triple A and ROH tag team champions, the FTR who will defend the Ring Of Honor belts against the Briscoes in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match at the Death Before Dishonor PPV. Cash Wheeler thanks the fans for the reactions every time they step into the ring and says he’ll never get tired of it. This Saturday, they will face the Briscoes and they respect their opponents but that will not prevent them from beating them. Dax Harwood then tells us the story of his little girl who had a heart problem and was told she had to fight to survive. Several years later, thanks to this courage and this desire, her little girl is still there and she has managed to beat this problem. He ends by saying that in Death Before Dishonor he will fight like an 8 year old girl.

– Behind the scenes, we are with Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt. Sonjay Dutt Says Jay Lethal Will Become ROH’s Next TV Champion By Defeating Samoa Joe At Death Before Dishonor PPV.

– Jade Cargill steps into the ring with Kiera Hogan, Stokely Hathaway and music producer Jermaine Dupri. Jade Cargill says she’s going to show in her town and in front of her family why she’s the champion.

Tag Team Match

Jade Cargill & Kiera Hogan (accompanied by Stokely Hathaway & Jermaine Dupri) vs Willow Nightingale & Athena

At the end of the match, Jade Cargill lands her Jaded on Willow Nightingale for the three count and the win.

– Tony Schiavone announces that Thunder Rosa will defend her AEW women’s title against Miyu Yamashita. Thunder Rosa says she’s going to face one of the best wrestlers in Japan and she’s going to beat her. Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter interrupt the two wrestlers and say they hope Thunder Rosa will lose.

– Just before the main event, the commentators announce the scheduled fights for Rampage with The Butcher & The Blade vs Adam Page & John Silver, Lee Moriarty vs Dante Martin, Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter in action and Jay Lethal vs Christopher Daniels. Not to mention the Rap Battle between Max Caster and Austin Gunn.

Barbed Wire Everywhere Deathmatch

“The Painmaker” Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston

(The Jericho Appreciation Society is locked up and suspended in the Shark Cage)

At the start of the match, Chris Jericho lands a Hurricanrana from the third rope on Eddie Kingston who lands on a table covered in barbed wire.

During the match, Tay Conti comes to attack Ruby Soho, but Anna Jay intervenes and pushes Tay Conti back, but suddenly, she attacks Ruby Soho. She then allows the Jericho Appreciation Society to break out of the Shark Cage to aid Chris Jericho. Santana and Ortiz then come to restore the balance by attacking the Jericho Appreciation Society.

At the end of the match, Sammy Guevara comes to the aid of Chris Jericho by attacking Eddie Kingston. Sammy Guevara then sends Eddie Kingston to Chris Jericho who gives him his Judas Effect for the count of three and the victory.

Winner: “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho

After the match, Eddie Kingston manages to get rid of Sammy Guevara and sends Chris Jericho over barbed wire.

The show ends with Chris Jericho screaming in pain and Eddie Kingston disappointed in his defeat, but still standing.
