HEART OF BEARN: Winegrower walks around Monein
With winegrower walks, it’s an opportunity to discover the vineyard, legends and the history of Jurançon, the region’s emblematic wine since the 15th century.e century and of course the AOC Jurançon. No need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy these walks, some are accessible even with children.
For about 1 hour 30 minutes, hikers will pass through the rows of vines and bunches of grapes to enjoy the hilly landscapes of the Jurançon vineyard and the view of the Pyrenees. Some will certainly be surprised by the height of the vines and their exposure!
These walks are also an opportunity to share a privileged moment with the winegrower who will present his trade, often passed down from generation to generation. OSSAU VALLEY: 150 events with the Ossau Summer
L’Été Ossalois is a program of cultural events supported by the Community of Municipalities of the Ossau Valley. It includes nearly 150 different events and nearly 350 dates from June to October, organized by more than 100 local cultural actors.
L’Été Ossalois is both music with numerous and varied concerts, for all tastes; heritage with visits organized throughout the summer, to discover Ossau’s heritage; sports with the challenge of Ossau, the Grand Trail of the Ossau Valley and themed hikes; live performance with theatre, circus, open-air cabarets; arts with workshops and exhibitions.
The events are mainly carried by actors from the Vallée d’Ossau with unfailing dynamism. But it is also openness thanks to partnerships with neighboring territories such as the Orchester Pau Pyrénées Béarn or the Espace Jéliote or the National Center for Puppetry.
The 2022 summer program continues to mix culture and territory. Not to be missed, for example, on Monday July 18, at 4 p.m. in Bilhères-en-Ossau, “Click, the noise of the soul”, a show by the company Circolabile, mixing clown, circus and photography in this village of heart of the Valley where the panorama is breathtaking.
Another meeting on Saturday July 23, with artists based in the mountain pastures for a week of “Cayolar” artistic residency. They invite you to join them to discover contemporary art outside art centers and share their work, the fruit of a week of artistic creation in the mountains.
