Duo of traditional music to the sound of uillean pipes and bodhran for an immersion in the music and dances of Ireland.

Karine Luçon – Holder of the TMRF, Irish state diploma for traditional dance, Karine Luçon has several strings to her bow. A musician recognized for her bodhrán playing (a percussive instrument from the frame drum family) combining ancient and contemporary techniques, she is also the director of numerous shows, notably with the Avalon Celtic Dances troupe, of which she is the artistic director. From Nantes, she teaches the different styles of Irish dancing at the Nantes Irish Dancing Academy.

Francois Lucon – Bathed in Irish music from an early age, François Luçon naturally turned to an instrument emblematic of these repertoires: the uilleann pipes. This bagpipe of great complexity, a real “instrument-orchestra” is characterized by its soft, woody timbre. The game of François Luçon, strongly inspired by the style of County Clare, is recognizable by its energy, its impact. Enriching his style with many contributions, ranging from popular European music to the Baroque, François plays in particular for the shows of the Avalon Celtic Dances troupe. He was also present in the films shot by Le Nouveau Pavillon at the Château des ducs de Bretagne in 2021.
